Job Purpose and Mission

 

This new role contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the design, development, delivery and sustainment of retail delivery platforms (both third party and D2C) deployed to the International Regions (EMEA, LAC & AP). Technology is a key part of Starbucks business, being at the forefront, both inside and outside the store environment – enabling a competitive advantage that delivers an enhanced customer and partner experience.

 

This role focuses on developing strategic and tactical plans for resourcing and meeting the evolving demands of the business with regards to delivery. As a proportion of sales, delivery is steadily growing year on year and a product manager is required to provide thought leadership and ultimately deliver a direct Starbucks proposition in 2024.

 

SDS (Starbucks Digital Solutions) platforms will support systems sales of over £10b annually and an operating cost of over £170m and will be at the forefront of delivering a range of retail capabilities to our international markets. Ensuring that suppliers have appropriate service levels and resilience to ensure we reduce points of failure and protect consistent experiences and journeys for our partners and customers. By nurturing the appropriate Supplier relationships to ensure that we amplify the key values of Starbucks brand delivering a strong co-creation mentality and agile working practices that are valued and adopted.

 

Provides leadership, management, direction, and support to the organisation to align and support the strategic business vision. This is done by managing product roadmaps to maximize market, regional, and global objectives. Coordinates with multiple technology projects impacting the region in accordance with established standards and best practices and plays a key role in liaising between delivery partners, the international leadership, market leadership, and global leadership on Delivery.

The role forms part of SDS Tech XLT and will be expected to represent technology when interacting with licensees, regional and global teams

 

 

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:                  

                                                                       

  1. Create strategic multi-year delivery product roadmaps, gains agreement from key stakeholders both business and market
  2. Project management of small changes, maintenance projects or process improvements.
  3. Vendor management and third level vendor escalation for delivery technology systems and services
  4. Maintains and executes a structured approach to problem-solving for team
  5. Recommends technology solutions to meet business objectives and goals
  6. Ensures the most effective use of tools, processes, and procedures to maintain the production environment
  7. Implements and maintains appropriate staffing levels and schedules
  8. Contributes to International delivery standards in the Global Licensing Framework
  9. Recommends corrective actions, new or enhanced tools, processes, and procedures in support of continuous improvement in meeting service level objectives
  10. Leverage commercial acumen to ensure delivery channel is profitable and work is prioritized based on business value
  11. Working with technology operations team to review supplier SLAs and provide feedback on performance improvements.
  12. Provide product guidance to teams on delivery order injection, menu management, fulfilment etc
  13. Provide input into SDS technology budgets for delivery Technology and hardware
  14. Challenges and inspires team to achieve results.
  15. Utilises and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful team, resulting in an environment where all partners are valued and respected.
