cluster manager (12 month FTC), Central Region

As part of this role, you’ll be supporting the region with NSO support as well as secondary support to the districts within the Central region. We’ll look to you to create the Starbucks Experience in all of our stores, making sure your teams are delivering hospitality excellence for our customers through our beverages and products and creating our third place environment.

We’ll look to you support the team of store managers to create the Starbucks Experience in all of our stores, making sure your teams are delivering hospitality excellence for our customers through our beverages and products and creating our third place environment.
This is a development opportunity and we’re looking for cluster managers with previous experience of working in a management position within a retail environment that will bring a passion for bringing joy to our partners and customers. Working in a Starbucks store is different from any other job. You’re creating genuine moments of connection with our partners and customers and making a difference to their day, through leading your teams who are creating handcraft delicious beverages and building relationships with our customers. This is why your strong communication and relationship building skills are essential for this role. You’ll also have strong influencing and people leadership skills, giving you the ability to tailor your approach with every partner within our business.
The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! A typical week will see you spending time in your stores in the district and could include:
- Planning, identifying, communicating and delegating key responsibilities and practices to your store management team to ensure a smooth flow of operations
- Developing your store management team to create best moments for customers and partners, providing feedback and coaching, and setting challenging goals to improve partner performance
- Driving the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the store management team to develop and implement action plans
- Managing staffing levels, making sure partner development and timely recruitment takes place
- Building relationships with internal partners to support district-wide operations
- Builds customer engagement by knowing store’s customer profiles and soliciting customer feedback and using this information to understand and act upon customer needs and the needs of the local community
- Seeking opportunities to increase sales and control costs
- Advising store managers on people issues, conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings where necessary, recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments, finding new, creative, and impactful methods of recognition
- Facilitating training courses to develop knowledge and skills of our partners
- Managing new store openings within the district/region, as required, playing an active role in all elements of the project to ensure the store opens on time, with the correct partners in place
Given the nature of our stores, our working hours could include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to give you the opportunity to spend time with your partners whilst they are in store
