Job Purpose and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading the financial processes that enable sound planning and decision-making for the EMEA Channel Development business.  The Partner is responsible for facilitating the development of strategic and operating plans and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Key Job Dimensions & Scope of Role:

 

  • Leads the financial planning and analysis for EMEA Channel Development business unit, providing insight to various levels of stakeholders throughout the business
  • Leads and develops EMEA Channel Development’s Strat Plan, AOP and quarterly forecasts.
  • Leads the monthly financial results and key performance measures.
  • Key finance business partner to the commercial and marketing teams
  • Business partnering with our partnerships (Arla, Nestle, Solinest)
  • Create awareness of financial performance, flagging risks/opportunities enabling the business to hit deliver its targets
  • Create and deliver fit for purpose, insightful reporting – automating whenever possible. Drive continuous improvements in the financial planning and analysis processes
  • Leads financial analysis to support business cases for new business initiatives, innovations, market expansion or cost savings projects
  • Management of one partner including responsibility for supporting their development

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

        

  • Leads the development of Channel Developments financial strategic plans, annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Establishes timelines, partners with budget owners, manages consolidation and initiates timely reviews of the financial projections to ensure plans are delivered on time and are consistent with overall company plans.
  • Identifies and communicates plans' risks and opportunities. Conducts decision analyses as needed and communicates results.
  • Analyses and provides feedback on monthly financial results and key performance measures. Prepares management reports against forecast, budget and prior year.
  • Identifies, analyses, and communicates trends and issues affecting the business.
  • Provides and explains financial information and guidance effectively to all levels of management. Educates financial/business acumen and ensures adherence to policy.
  • Leads on-going review of planning and reporting process to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvements.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to improve processes, set targets, develop plans, conduct analyses and
  • measure results. Consults with senior management to identify process gaps, present data and propose solutions.
  • Key contact for other key accounting functions to ensure P&L is properly reflected and drive continuous process improvements
  • Key contact for external partners (licensed partners and distributors) regarding reporting, planning and new business opportunities
  • Finance Business Partner to commercial/marketing team, to drive cost/investment efficiency and new initiatives to accelerate growth
  • Build financial models and analysis to support business cases related to innovations, market expansion or cost savings project

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong presentation skills to leadership
  • Ability to manage various levels of stakeholders throughout the business
  • Ability to build relationship with cross functional teams and external partners
  • Strong business mindset, FMCG background is preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Advanced financial modelling skills.
